Be Kind To Yourself

During difficult times we know how to be supportive to the important people in our lives, but sometimes we forget how to be kind to ourselves.  Today try to tune into what you need and make time for some self-care.

Some people need:

  • Self-acceptance: knowing & loving your strengths & weaknesses

  • A nap: sleeping for 10 minutes in the early afternoon (source Mayo Clinic)

  • To meditate: breathing & saying “I accept myself”

  • To listen to music: listening to songs that promote self- kindness like “I am Light

  • To exercise: prioritizing your health with some movement

  • To journal: writing about your strengths

Self-compassion is recognizing that you are doing the best you can with the resources you have at this time.  Self-compassion is not selfish, it won’t make you complacent, and it does not mean that you are weak.  It can make you happier and ready to take on whatever comes next.
